Our Story

They would like to say it was love at first sight, but honestly, they both had some reservations about dating in general. November 15th 2004, was Alicia's first day of work in a new job. It was cold that day and it had snowed a fair bit the night before. So the saying, "It'll be a cold day in H..." rang true about anything blooming that day, especially a new 'love'. Little did she know she'd be meeting Patrick.

She's totally pleased with the fact she pursued Patrick. Asking him to hang up her Christmas lights, inviting him over to dinner as a thank you, (almost catching the place on fire in the process). Their first outing was just a casual friendly trip to the infamous Copper Penny with Patrick's roommate, Adam and Alicia's long time friend, Angela.

It's been 2 years of dating now and they are stronger then ever. By day they work diligently in their prospective careers. By night, they work in the trenches pursuing their goals and dreams together, building a legacy for their families and future generations to come.

Patrick proposed this past Christmas Eve at his future mother-in-law's home in Bridgewater. It was typical Patrick style - quiet, intimate and did not involve talking in front of others. (what a shy cutie) Of course after it happened, Alicia has done the typical shouting from the roof tops that is expected from a newly engaged gal.

Patrick had taken it upon himself to bring new life to Alicia's Grandmother's 50 year old diamond engagement ring. The set that Alicia's grandmother had passed down to her about 3 years earlier.

This ring has meant alot to Alicia and her family. Ever since Alicia was little Nanny kept saying that it would be hers some day. Nanny and Granddad were a pillar of strength and love for Alicia's family. After Alicia's grandfather's death 10 days after she was born, to the day her Nanny passed, almost 27 years later, she never loved another man. She literally died of a broken heart and was recently reunited with her soul mate again. A true love story.

Alicia knows in her heart that Nanny and Granddad would be honored to have Patrick as part of the family. He has blended so well with its members and his own family is one of tradition and a long, strong heritage.

Now, it's off to the races. The couple have been busy. They've always wanted to get married on a beach somewhere hot-hot-hot, so stay tuned for details.
